Since 2009, Ajda has offered voice lessons in a lovely downtown Boston studio, working with singers of all ages and levels on contemporary styles such as rock, pop, jazz, blues, country, r&b, folk and more. Don't live in the Greater Boston area? Lessons are also available via Skype/FaceTime.
The general goal is improving overall technique, strengthening one's entire range, improving breath support, increasing artistic interpretive ability, reducing physical tension and mental interference, and learning about vocal health and the mechanics of singing - all while having fun.
Ajda has taught thousands of lessons to students from all walks of life, including ages 7-75 and LGBTQ. She specializes in teaching adult beginners, and her lessons are appropriate for anyone looking to explore, develop and build the voice, or to create a stronger and more dynamic image.
"ATTENTION musicians, actors, singers, linguistic artists, motivational speakers, chatty cathys, casual merrymakers: preserve those precious pipes! Check out Ajda, my talented and fantastic voice teacher and try out a lesson (or a dozen). Each of her lessons are worth every (totally affordable) penny." - Tara Purasson
"Ajda helped me immensely in getting control over my voice and breathing, relaxation, exercises. She is that perfect combination of a classically trained musician who also is in the local rock/pop scene. No matter what your level of proficiency is, she can help you to the next level. Ajda puts a lot of work into creating individual lessons for each person/lesson. I highly recommend her as a vocal instructor!" - Kim Ackland, vocalist for The Black Souls
"Well, I wasn't sure what to expect, but after one lesson, I can say without reservation that, if you're looking for a voice teacher, Ajda Snyder is one hell of a good place to start. A fountain of knowledge, that one." - Rishava Green, vocalist for The Lights Out
"I am primarily a visual artist, but Ajda has helped me develop a sense of myself as a musician with her patience, enthusiasm and dedication to her craft. Each lesson I have taken with her has been carefully tailored to suit my abilities and needs. It is clear from the wealth of useful and witty tips that her guidance is tempered with years of experience in the music business and extensive training in the field. It has been a joy working with Ajda. She is a delightful individual and sure to inspire artists of all stripes." - Giuliana Funkhouser
"I came to Ajda a few years ago, when I started a gender transition. I'd been a singer most of my life, but had fallen out of practice for nearly a decade, and reclaiming my voice was incredibly important to me. It can be difficult to find vocal instructors who understand the needs of a trans singer, but Ajda wasn't fazed. She helped me not only find strength in my voice again, but helped me expand my upper range a few steps. Ajda is always bringing new techniques to lessons and encouraging me to expand my horizons musically. She's consistently able to identify areas where I struggle and offer a new way of approaching the situation to help me overcome those obstacles. We not only cover vocal technique, but work toward my personal goals - stage presence, leading a band, and finding a space as a performer in Boston. I'm ecstatic to work with her." - Hannah R.
"I found out about Ajda's vocal training lessons through a mutual friend and simply couldn't be happier about it. My vocal prowess has improved exponentially under Ajda's tutelage over the past year. Thanks to her instruction, I have better vocal tone, greater control, and a better understanding of proper technique. Her thoughtful, professional, and fun lessons are worth every penny and I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone who wants to become a stronger vocalist." - Mark Zero, vocalist for zeroNegative
"Before my lessons with Ajda, I knew that I had the potential to be a singer but was unaware of how to go about doing it properly or how to open my heart to the notes inside of me. Since my lessons with Ajda, my voice has improved in ways that I never thought imaginable. I would recommend her as a teacher who cares about her students and the outcome of her students' work. She is a mindful and wonderful person with an excellent ear in music and what talent she has! 10/10!" - Larry Owens, vocalist for The Owens
"Ajda has undoubtedly helped me to reconnect to my voice. While I expected for Ajda to assist me with vocal technique (since she came so highly recommended), I did not expect to find such tranquility, confidence and support during her coaching sessions. Ajda is patient, professional, organized, supportive and skillful. She clearly has a mastery of her craft that she passes on to her students with lots of care and enthusiasm." - Annery Miranda
